Yesterday’s future falls short Of victory, nothing to report What used to be a certainty Is now just an obscurity Once it was all so clear Before the plans. Before the fear Now everything is black Everything is used Everything is broken Everything is abused I loathe every part of my life From the very start Except for what is here Crumbling apart I look inside to reflect And I see I hate that guy I hope he fucking dies I hope he fucking dies Guilt. Remorse Sorrow. Isolation Worthlessness. Misanthropy Self-loathing. Desperation I was hoping someday This would all go away But it lingers on and on while All the rest of hope is gone We continue endlessly relentless A new beginning Another lost soul It’s always the same Another line. Another way Aura of failure Bitterness and decay Animosity. Isolation Contempt and devastation If everything is dead When will it end?

You do your best to fit the part You wear it well. You work so hard Where does it end? What does it get you? A broken home. Bulletproof ego How far you’ll push To feed the lie. To hide the truth You are nothing Piling on a thousand layers of Panic and distress Guilt and desperation wrap Themselves around your neck Talons & teeth on pterodactyl wings Swooping from the sky to Destroy the machine Sick and tired of pathetic excuses How about something in The way of producing Nerves have all been frayed by you There’s only so much I can do Embrace your ethics as they Smother out your life Love doesn’t conquer all Clouds don’t have silver linings See for yourself that There’s nothing here for you Teeth of a cogwheel Bite. Chew.

THE METAL REVIEW - STORM KING "AURA OF FAILURE"
Dec 3, 2010

WELL FOLKS WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS ANOTHER MIGHTY FINE SLAB OF METAL FROM PENNSYLVANIA.HAVING READ THAT WHEN THESE GUYS STARTED OUT THEIR SOUND WAS SLOWER AND MORE DOOM ORIENTED. ONE CAN ONLY IMAGINE THEIR SOUND THEN AS COMPARED TO THIS LATEST OFFERING.IF YOUR LOOKING FOR METAL WITH HAPPY VIBES THEN I SUGGEST YOU WALK AWAY.WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS A PLATTER DRENCHED IN PURE CHAOS. " AURA OF FAILURE " WILL LEAVE EVEN THE HAPPIEST OF PEOPLE FEELING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WASHED UPON THE SHORES OF LIFE AS A PIECE OF MERE FLOTSAM.WITH OLD SCHOOL THRASH MOMENTS AND SOME OCCASIONAL BLAST BEATS YOUR LEFT FOR DEAD UNTIL SOME PUNISHING BASS LINES TAKE YOU FOR ANOTHER SPIN AROUND THIS BIG BALL OF DIRT WE CALL HOME.THE GUITAR WORK ON DISPLAY HERE IS WONDEROUS WITH A KILLER RHYTHM SECTION AND CLEAN, NOT OVERLY DISTORTED LEADS.ALL THE VOCALS ARE VERY NOTEWORTHY WITH A HINT OF OPETH YET MAINTAINING ORIGINALITY,NO COPY CATS HERE.GIVING A NOD TO THE OLD SCHOOL STORM KING PLAYS A COVER OF NUCLEAR ASSULT'S " CRITICAL MASS " ON THIS RELEASE.I HAD THE CHANCE TO CATCH THIS BAND LIVE NOT SO LONG AGO AND NOT HAVING DONE SO HERE I SIT IN MY " AURA OF FAILURE ". A WELL PRODUCED MUST HAVE FOR ALL THRASHERS AND BANGERS.

RATING-91.5
